"A Prostate Cancer Forum for Ladies Only" Forum

This private Forum allows women to discuss all aspects of their or their loved one's prostate cancer illness in an active support environment. Discussions include actual or recommended treatments, illness side effects, everyday problems, member stories, diet, and recipes.

PPML (Prostate Problems Mailing List) 

Since 1995, the mission of the PPML has been to provide a forum for prostate cancer survivors, their families, and their supportive friends to exchange information about prostate cancer. Medical professionals sometimes also contribute to the discussions. We invite you to draw on the knowledge, experience, and empathetic support of our approximately 1300 participants by subscribing to our discussion list and presenting any questions you may have. Questions and responses to questions are what has made the PPML the valuable resource that many of us have found it to be for many years.

This is perhaps the oldest of the prostate Mailing List Discussion Groups.  Lot of discussion and answers from some very educated prostate cancer patients.  It is quite active but like all of these Mailing Lists, Groups, Forums, web sites, one has to be careful what you read.  There are always some very biased members there who can lead you astray on any of these types of activities.  One of the advantages of PPML is the fact that it is large enough that you get opinions on both sides of the issue.

Hormone Refractory Prostate Cancer site

This is an exclusive website and Forum for those diagnosed with Hormone Refractory Prostate Cancer (HRPC).  The HRPCa On-line Support List is an internet forum for men with diagnosed hormone-refractory prostate cancer and for their families and caregivers. We have found that once a man is diagnosed with HRPC, he is fighting a different battle than that waged against the earlier stages. This forum allows families fighting HRPC to share their experiences candidly with others similarly committed.

Members of this group recognize the importance of (1) understanding thoroughly the therapies that have been found effective and their side effects; (2) searching out new therapies that have the potential of helping in the fight against HRPC; and (3) understanding the medical science surrounding this stage of the disease and the relevant therapies.

This is a small, highly focused group, dedicated to the serious search for better answers. It is a working group actively looking for information and treatments that will lead to slowing the disease and extending quality survival.

Each participant is considered a contributor to the group effort. At this stage of the disease, each individual has experienced a number of treatments and side effects, and he has gathered knowledge and experience that may be of use to others.

It is not the purpose of this group to withdraw from the community of Pca fighters. Any information of general interest that is developed through the group efforts is posted on this web site, which is open to all. We also post this information regularly to the other lists that deal with all issues surrounding Pca.

American Cancer Society Message Board

Another way to get information from usually knowledgeable people.  Expert Answers is a forum for you to ask questions related to prostate cancer. A team of ACS oncology professionals will answer your questions. A panel of guest medical experts may provide further information. This board is moderated for content, so it may take one to three business days for your message to be displayed. A reply will be posted from an ACS oncology professional within three business days of when the message was displayed.
